Thursday 1st: We set off on our journey to Dover for the short sea crossing to Calais and
continue to our overnight in the Aachen region on the German/Belgium border.
Friday 2nd: Our journey continues as we follow the River Rhine south towards Austria and
on to Vomp where we arrive at the Hotel Vomperhof late afternoon for the next five nights.
Saturday 3rd: Today is the highlight of our tour as we drive through the Zillertal Valley to

Sunday 4th: Today we head to Innsbruck, the capital of the Austrian Tyrol, which has
many attractions including the old quarter with its cobbled streets where you can stroll
round the charming shops and cafes. We begin with a guided morning tour of Innsbruck
including views like the Wilten, Basilica, Golden Roof and the Hofburg Palace. After time
for lunch we head for Götzens and Brigitz for a horse carriage ride in the great Olympic
region of Axams, with music and Schnaps.
Monday 5th: Our full day excursion today begins with a train trip from Jenbach to Seespitz
on the mountain railway. We then take a boat ride on the beautiful Achensee from Pertisau
to Achenkirch. At an altitude of 930 metres is Achensee Tyrol’s biggest natural lake, nestled
in a valley separating the superb Karwendel massif and the Rofan. Created by glaciers, it
is 133m deep at its deepest point.
Tuesday 6th: This morning we make the short journey along the Inntal Valley to Tratzberg
Castle, located between Jenbach and Schwaz. It has been mentioned for the first time in
the 13th century and is one of the most beautiful castles in the Alpine area, dating back to
the period between Gothic and Renaissance. One of the castles most impressive features
is the square courtyard with stunning Renaissance paintings. We return to Vomp for an
afternoon at leisure.
Wednesday 7th: Regrettably it is time to leave our picturesque surroundings to
commence our homeward journey. We retrace our outward steps travelling north through
Germany to the Aachen region on the German/Belgium border for our overnight
Thursday 8th: The final part of the homeward journey will take us into France for the short
Channel crossing back to Dover from where we head for home.
(Please note; to enjoy the full benefit of this beautiful region some days are best suited to good weather conditions, and as a result these excursions may be swapped around to alternative days with better weather prospects, this will be left to the drivers discretion).
