Thursday 12th: We head through the beautiful Peak District with suitable stop en-route as
we head to our hotel the Cedar Court for the next 4 nights dinner bed & breakfast.
Friday 13th: Our scenic tour of the Dales begins at Ripon, dominated by its cathedral,
before continuing to Pateley Bridge, on the banks of the River Nidd. We continue through
the landscapes more familiar as ‘Emmerdale Country’ to the sleepy little village of Esholt,
home of ‘The Woolpack’, the pub used for exterior scenes for many years.
Saturday 14th: The ancient city of York is our destination today. The day is free to wander
the old streets of ‘The Shambles’, travel back to Viking times at the Jorvik Centre, visit the
National Railway Museum, enjoy lunch in an old world pub, stroll the city walls, and of
course pay a visit to the magnificent York Minster – and no visit to York is complete without
a treat at Betty’s famous tearooms.
Sunday 15th: We journey to the attractive Spa town of Harrogate. Great gardens always
begin in the autumn and there is no better place to get started than the Harrogate Autumn
Flower Show. Featuring beautiful show gardens, stunning plant nursery displays, live
expert demonstrations and great garden shopping, it offers everything you need to plan
and perfect your outdoor space. The famous giant vegetable competition is set to wow
visitors as colossal carrots, monster marrows and podgy parsnips weigh in for the battle of
the bulge. The Harrogate Flower Show is a perfect visit for both garden lovers and anyone
looking for an experience with a difference.
Monday 16th: Following a leisurely breakfast we leave for Skipton (market day). After time
for lunch we begin our journey home.
