Natural Wonders of the West Highlands
Impressive new holiday based near Fort William, exploring The Great Glen and the coastline of the Western Highlands. A boat cruise is included on probably the most famous of lochs, a steam hauled railway journey on the Harry Potter line between Fort William and Mallaig, ending with a visit to the “Gateway to the Isles” with an afternoon spent on a most tranquil island.

Monday 31st May: We head north to Glencoe with time to relax before your evening meal. Welcome tea and shortbread will be served on arrival.
Tuesday 1st June: First stop is the Commando Monument overlooking Ben Nevis at Spean Bridge before continuing along the epic Great Glen with time free in Fort Augustus at the head of Loch Ness. Board the boat at Urquhart Castle for a cruise out on to Loch Ness arriving at the Clansman Marina, where your coach awaits to take you to Inverness with free time, before returning to Glencoe, along the eastern shoreline of the loch.
Wednesday 2nd June: We board the Jacobite Steam Train – one of the great railway journeys of the world, our two hour journey to (or from) Mallaig – made famous in the Harry Potter movies, absorbing beautiful views. To make the most of your day passengers travel one way by train and one way by coach – some will travel on the outbound journey and the remainder will travel on the return journey.
Thursday 3rd: Scenic lochside drive to Oban, with time free in the town. After lunch, turn south for 12 miles to cross the “Bridge over the Atlantic” and on to the pretty but small island of Seil - the island which roofed the world with its slate. Time to roam the conservation village of Easdale, with pretty whitewashed miners cottages surrounded by turquoise blue waters with sweeping views across to the outer Isles. Here, there is a museum to explore with a café, before returning to Glencoe.
Friday 4th June: Sadly after breakfast it’s time to head south via Gretna Green and home.
