Monday 19th: We leave our home area and travel to Weston-super-Mare where time will be given for lunch before we continue to the Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company for a demo of cheese-making and a tasting. The birthplace of this famous cheese since 2003 using only fresh local unpasteurised milk, they preserve the original character of their namesake. That is, they only make true, authentic Cheddar, in the heart of Somerset. We then check-in at our hotel where a cream tea will be served on arrival.

Tuesday 20th: This morning we visit Taunton. The county town has plenty to offer from individual boutiques to historic architecture, modern dining to unspoilt views across the Blackdown Hills and the Quantock Hills. This afternoon we visit Sheppy’s Cider Museum to peek behind the scenes at one of the oldest cidermakers in the world. Your guided cider tour includes a visit to the orchards, the press house, the vat house and the Sheppy’s rural life museum and culminates with a tasting of some of the best loved ciders.

Wednesday 21st: We leave our hotel after breakfast and travel to the Quince Honey Farm for a guided tour and tasting. The honey factory features a ‘Products of the Hive’ – viewing window into the honey production area. Now one of Britain’s leading honey farms Quince Honey Farm is family run and was first established in 1949. We the continue to Barnstaple where time will b e given to explore the famous pannier market and elegant Georgian buildings, Atlantic Indoor Shopping Centre and Butchers Row.

Thursday 22nd: This morning we spend free time in Tiverton, a busy market town situated in the middle of Devon. Tiverton stands on two rivers - the Lowman and the Exe. It was thought to have been a Saxon settlement founded in the 7th century. This afternoon we enjoy a cream the in the lovely surroundings of a historic mill.

Friday 23rd: We leave our hotel after breakfast and head for home.

The modern 3-star Best Western Tiverton Hotel lies on the edge of the market town of Tiverton in the heart of the beautiful Mid Devon region and sits within two and a half acres of mature gardens.
