Float your Boat in Kent & Greenwich
Kent has played a significant role in Britain’s maritime history and we immerse ourselves in that legacy on this tour. We visit the Historic Dockyard Chatham to discover 400 years of maritime history and spend the day in fascinating Greenwich, home to the Cutty Sark ship, the National Maritime Museum and the Old Royal Naval College. We also visit the childhood home of General James Wolfe and pay our respects to those who served at RAF Biggin Hill during the Second World War.

Monday 26th: We travel south with suitable stops en-route arriving at our hotel for check-in. Welcome tea and coffee on arrival.
Tuesday 27th: We spend today at the Historic Dockyard Chatham; the exhibits stretch over 80 acres, including three historic warships, interactive galleries and a collection of RNLI Lifeboats, so there’s plenty to see and do.
Wednesday 28th: Today we have a full day to visit the home of time, Greenwich, where we explore its famous attractions. We have the option of visiting the Royal Observatory Greenwich, the historic sailing ship Cutty Sark, the National Maritime Museum (free of charge), the Old Royal Naval College (free of charge) and the Queen’s House art gallery (free of charge). We can also wander through Greenwich Park for glorious views over the River Thames and London and, for the shoppers among us, there’s a fantastic array of crafts, antiques and collectables to browse at Greenwich Market.
Thursday 29th: This morning we visit Quebec House where we enjoy a one hour private house tour of the childhood home of General James Wolfe, victor of the 1759 Battle of Quebec. In the afternoon we make our way to the Biggin Hill Memorial Museum, situated on the same site as St George’s RAF Chapel of Remembrance, built in 1951 to preserve the legacy of those who served and died at Biggin Hill during the second world war. During our visit, we also enjoy a cream tea.
