Friday 23rd: Depart from your home area travelling to York, where free time will be given to wander the old streets of ‘The Shambles’. Like stepping back into the middle ages, the overhanging timber-framed houses and traditional shopfronts of The Shambles makes it one of the UK’s most historic (and picturesque) streets. Enjoy lunch in an old world pub, stroll the city walls and of course pay a visit to the magnificent York Minster. Continuing to our hotel, arriving late afternoon.
Saturday 24th: Today we have a full day at the Harrogate Flower Show, held at the Great Yorkshire Showground. Entry is included and there are hundreds of exhibits and craft stalls to explore. Rated Britain's top gardening event by Which? this prestigious event will feature beautiful show gardens, spectacular new Plant Pavilion, great shopping, live entertainment and the biggest exhibition by florists and flower arrangers in the country. There is a packed programme of talks and demonstrations each day of the show. There will be lively garden chat and great growing advice, floral art demonstrations, and a menu of delicious dishes in the FEAST! Cookery Theatre. Late afternoon we leave and return to our hotel for dinner.
Sunday 25th: Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before we head for Harrogate with time to explore at leisure, perhaps enjoy some shopping or visit the famous Betty’s Tea Rooms. Later, we begin our homeward journey.
