Sunday 23rd: After visiting Lichfield en-route we arrive at our hotel where porterage will be
provided and a cream tea served. This evening your Antiques Host will lead a fun session
talking about items you may have brought from home and also reveal a surprise!
Monday 24th: Today we travel to the pretty Derbyshire Dales town of Matlock, a magnet
for antiques hunters. We return to our hotel heading down the Derwent Valley, one of the
key locations of the Industrial Revolution.
Tuesday 25th: This morning we call at James Lewis’s auction house to book in your sale
items and have an informative talk from James or a colleague, to hear some anecdotes of
the Antiques trade and to enjoy a cuppa. You could also divide into two teams to guess
what your group’s items will fetch. This afternoon we have a short tour into the lovely Peak
District National Park.
Wednesday 26th: It’s Sale Day so it’s off to Bamford’s Auctioneers to see how you fare!
Typically auctions last for much of the day so after an agreed time, the coach will take
those who’ve had enough into town for free time and shopping.
Thursday 27th: Your driver will collect payments and unsold items from Bamford’s before
we leave during the morning, maybe a fraction richer or poorer. On our return journey a stop will be made at the National Memorial Arboretum.
