Sunday 4th: We travel north via Southport leaving after lunch to Preston and check-in at
the Preston Marriott.
Monday 5th: Leaving after breakfast to Leighton Hall Estate. This lived-in country house
has been ancestral home of the famous furniture making Gillow dynasty since 1822. Hear
the story of Robert Gillow – his innovative designs are what brought the family success
and prominence and their furniture can now be seen in Government and homes of English
aristocracy. We return to our hotel via Morecambe
Tuesday 6th: This morning we visit Samlesbury Hall. Included will be a 90 minute out-ofhours
guided tour with the estate’s very own Witch, Janey. Samlesbury Hall is renowned
as one of the most haunted locations in Britain with resident spirits including the legendary
White Lady. You can also discover the story of the Samlesbury Witches. This afternoon we
will spend time in St Annes on Sea whose town centre has been completely regenerated
over recent years. Take a stroll along the promenade in St. Annes, past the bandstand and
Promenade Gardens and you’ll find the beautifully preserved Victorian Pier.
Wednesday 7th: We return home after breakfast and call at Oswaldtwistle Mills before
continuing to Bury famous for its market which will be open today.
