Monday 25th: We travel south with suitable stops en-route arriving at the Manor Hotel with
plenty of time to relax before dinner.
Tuesday 26th: Morning free in 14th century Canterbury, rich in history with timbered
houses and famous UNESCO cathedral. Nearby is 900 year old Leeds Castle. The rest of
the day is spent exploring its rich interiors and 500 acres of gardens and parkland.
Wednesday 27th: First stop is the attractive town of Rochester with its Norman castle and
ancient cathedral, with curling lanes of old buildings leading to the Medway. The afternoon
is spent at the most complete Dockyard of the Age of Sail in the world- a leading maritime
heritage attraction, set in 80 acres with three historic warships, a working Victorian Ropery,
historic lifeboat collection, dockyard railway plus magnificent collections from 2 national
Thursday 28th: Today our first port of call is Penshurst Place is a private estate
comprising of a perfectly preserved fortified manor house, built in 1341. Included is a tour
of the house and the impressive medieval Barons Hall. The 50 acres of grade 1 listed
gardens surrounding the house are described as one of Britain’s most alluring spectacles.
Close by is one of Kent’s finest wineries, with acres of manicured vineyards and apple
orchards. Included is a guided tour of the estate followed by a tasting session.
Friday 29th: After a leisurely breakfast we make our way home.
