Begin your fairy-tale adventure at Sheffield’s Botanical Gardens. Set your sights across a green haven matched with an array of gardens, including the Evolution, Rose and Water Gardens. Continue your journey to the majestic Bolsover Castle. Take a trip through the, “hidden gem of Lincolnshire,” Gainsborough Old Hall.

Your Itineray

Thursday 7th: We leave during the morning and travel via Buxton and the Peak District.
Continuing to the Holiday Inn for check-in and tea, coffee and cake on arrival.

Friday 8th: Today we have a full day in York. Browse around the medieval shopping
streets of Stonegate and the Shambles or visit the famous attraction of York Minster.

Saturday 9th: We visit Sheffield Botanical Gardens, a green haven in the middle of the city
with lots to see and enjoy. There are so many areas to explore from the Four Seasons
garden that provides a changing display throughout the year, Birch Hill, a traditional Rose
Garden and a Rock and Water Garden. The Asia Garden has shrubs and trees from the
Himalayas and Far East. This afternoon we visit Bolsover Castle. There's a fairytale quality
to Bolsover Castle, highlights include the sumptuously painted walls and ceilings of the
Little Castle, intricately carved fireplaces and the magnificent indoor Riding House.

Sunday 10th: This morning we visit Gainsborough Old Hall, regularly described as a
“hidden gem in Lincolnshire”, Gainsborough Old Hall is over 500 years old and is one of
the best preserved timber framed manor houses in the UK. A castle and manor at
Gainsborough dates back to King Stephen in the twelfth century but the current building
was built in 1455 when Thomas Burgh inherited the manor. Gainsborough Old Hall has a
magnificent Great Hall at its centre, linking the East and West Ranges, and boasts one of
the best preserved examples of a late medieval kitchen in England. Famous visitors to the
Old Hall include Richard III, Henry VIII, and John Wesley. This afternoon we will have a
short stay in Lincoln. This evening a small glass of wine will be served with dinner

Monday 11th: We leave after breakfast and return home.

Located in the grounds of the seventeenth century Warmsworth Hall, the Holiday Inn offers
guests every comfort and convenience. This hotel has lately been refurbished counting the
installation of air-conditioning in all rooms.
