Saturday 22nd: We head to Hull for our overnight Ferry to Zeebrugge. The Show Lounge
showcases live bands, singers and cabaret throughout the evening. If you’ve got dancing
feet, you can party all night long in the disco or just relax and enjoy the show. For a more
laid back atmosphere, relax and listen to familiar tunes from the onboard pianist. Dinner &
breakfast is included on board.
Sunday 23rd: We continue today through Holland into Germany and onto the Park Hotel
at Rüdesheim on the banks of the Rhine River. Today is the last day of the Rüdesheim
Christmas Market so we should be in time to pick up a bargain and enjoy the atmosphere.
Monday 24th; This morning we meet a guide for a City walk in the centre of Rüdesheim.
The historic old town has much to offer, picturesque streets, the remains of three castles
and the old city fortification and several Bourgeois and noble courtyards from the 16th
century. Some shops are also open over the Christmas period. Why not stroll along the
street and visit the famous “Kathe Wohlfahrt” Christmas shop.
Tuesday 25th: Merry Christmas! In the morning you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast and
afterwards perhaps take a scenic walk along the banks of the majestic Rhine or just enjoy
the wonderful views of the river with a hot chocolate on the hotel’s terrace café. In the
afternoon, after a buffet lunch, Santa Clause is coming with a small gift from Rüdesheim.
Later you are invited to join in our Christmas Bingo with some fantastic prizes to be won
and then enjoy some traditional cookies and mulled wine. In the evening there will be a
special 5 – course Christmas dinner.
Wednesday 26th: No visit to Rüdesheim would be complete without taking part in a wine
tasting. As far as the eye can see, picturesque vineyards, steep slate rocks and dense
forests surround the hospitable wine town. We visit a local winegrower who will share his
passion and give us a fascinating insight in to the art of wine making and, of course, enjoy
a glass or two! In the afternoon, we visit the Kloster Eberbach (Eberbach Monastery), a
beautiful old monastery near Wiesbaden. The grounds house several buildings that are
open to explore. The monastery was the major wine-producer for the area, with the monks
overseeing the operation.
Thursday 27th: Sadly it’s time to leave the beautiful Rhine Valley and head to Zeebrugge
for our overnight ferry crossing to Hull. Dinner & breakfast is included on-board.
Friday 28th: We depart Hull and continue homeward.
