Monday 19th: We travel into South Wales for check-in at the Aberavon Beach Hotel.
Tuesday 20th: We make the short journey to The Gower Heritage Centre, a visitor
attraction and rural life museum based around a working 12th century water-mill with craft
shops, craft activities and an old fashioned games arcade. On arrival you will be greeted
by your guide who will direct you to the Water Wheel to begin the tour. Following the tour
you may want to investigate the rest of the site. As well as the traditional crafts and shops,
there is a collection of rare breeds of poultry and ducks. The centre is home to La
Charrette – the smallest cinema in Wales. At the “eggucation centre”, there are often tiny
chicks that have just hatched. We then head out on a guided coach tour lasting
approximately 2 hours where a fully qualified guide will accompany us to point out the
highlights of Gower from the heights of Cefn Bryn and the historic “Arthur’s Stone” to the
breathtaking beauty of Rhossili beach and the nature reserve of Worm’s Head. We then
spend free time by the quaint seaside village of Mumbles on the southern tip of Swansea
Bay with its array of attractions including a medieval castle and popular pier.
Wednesday 21st: Today we visit Cardiff and take a one hour return cruise around Cardiff
Bay which allows you to soak in the atmosphere and the beautiful scenery, passing by
monuments such as Cardiff Castle, before returning to Mermaid Quay where you have free
time to explore the restaurants and shops which overlook the bay.
Thursday 22nd: We return home during the morning via Carmarthen.
