Monday 23rd: We leave this morning for York. We travel via Harrogate, a popular tourist
destination; its spa waters, RHS Harlow Carr gardens and Betty's tearooms are world
famous visitor attractions. After lunch we continue on to the Queens Hotel in York with
plenty of time to settle in before dinner.
Tuesday 24th: Today is free to explore York. There’s so much to see and do in York, visit
the cobbled streets of the ‘Shambles’ with its quaint little shops, the York Minster, Jorvik
Viking centre or the railway museum. There are many museums and castles to visit
including the new Chocolate Story.
Wednesday 25th: Free time to continue to explore York or join the coach for a full day
circular tour firstly to Scarborough for time to explore the seaside town and then on to the
harbour town of Whitby, with its quayside and little streets displaying their unique character
and picturesque charm beneath the magnificent 7th century Abbey. The Abbey provided
the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula. We end the day with a short stop at
Goathland the home of the Heartbeat series.
Thursday 26th: We depart after breakfast and head for home via the Peak District
including Bakewell and Buxton.
