Friday 1st: We travel north crossing the border into Scotland and check-in at the Best
Western Queens Hotel.
Saturday 2nd: A visit to Captain Scott's ship, the RRS Discovery, is included this morning.
Explore the ship and relive the hardships and triumphs of the remarkable expedition to the
Antarctic. The afternoon is free to explore Dundee city centre. One of Scotland's seven
cities, Dundee has acquired a few names over the years - 'one city, many discoveries',
'jute, jam and journalism', and, very recently, a 'UNESCO City of Design'.
Sunday 3rd: A morning excursion along the coast to Broughty Ferry, the 'Jewel in
Dundee's Crown' home to Lorraine Kelly and once home to the wealthy jute barons living
in, what was reputed to be, the 'richest square mile in Europe'. Continue via Carnoustie
and Arbroath, famous for Arbroath Smokies (smoked haddock), and on to Montrose.
Return to Dundee via Brechin, stopping at Glamis Castle for an included visit and guided
tour of the splendid childhood home of Her Majesty the Queen Mother. Once your tour
begins every room has its own story and the evolution of the castle and legendary tales are
brought to life by one of our enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide.
Monday 4th: Today we visit Edinburgh. The inspiring capital of Scotland where centuries
of history meet a vibrant, cosmopolitan setting. Experience wonderful architecture, scenery,
shopping and attractions in the royal city.
Tuesday 5th: We leave Dundee after breakfast and return home.
