Wednesday 11th: The Ecclesbourne Valley, one of Derbyshire’s most lovely and unspoilt
valleys, stretching from the northern outskirts of Derby at Duffield, to Wirksworth. Climb
aboard the 9-mile long heritage railway, lovingly restored by an enthusiastic and
knowledgeable group of volunteers. Before embarking on your journey, indulge in a tasty
afternoon tea consisting of a freshly made sandwich platter, scones with jam and cream, a
slice of cake and tea or coffee served to your table in a wonderful converted Pullman
carriage at Wirksworth Station. After our visit we travel to our hotel.
Thursday 12th: We visit Wollaton Hall, Gardens and Deer Park. Go behind-the-scenes on
one of the guided tours and explore the wealth and grandeur. We top the day off with Trent
Friday 13th: We head home stopping at Melton Mowbray home of the pork pie.
